I am deeply grateful to my late mentor Čeněk Pražák for his patience, for sharing unreservedly his expertise and knowledge in order to give me an incomparable and profound education. My thanks go also to my brother Wilfried for introducing me to Pražák, which changed my life, and for being my "big brother" in the very best sense. My deepest thanks go to my sister Ellie, who has been a wonderful companion and I thank her and her husband Albert for enabling me to study in London. I am forever grateful to my husband Anthony for his wisdom and guidance which has enabled me to develop further. I would also like to express my thanks to my friends for their friendship and trust.

For my late parents for their unconditional love and understanding.
